Kizomba is one of the most popular genres of dance and music originating in Angola. It mixes the traditional Semba music and Zouk music from the French Caribbean Islands.
On this basis, Kizomba music emerged as a more modern music genre with a sensual touch mixed with African rhythm. Unlike Semba, Kizomba music is characterised by a slower and usually very romantic rhythm, sung generally in Portuguese

The name means “little screw in a bolt”. And Danced on the spot, Tarraxinha has very little in the way of steps and is focused on isolations and two bodies moving as one. A class in social Tarraxinha or Tarraxinha styling can be quite helpful. Tarraxinha movement is also a fantastic asset to girls who want to impress at the club, or want to show off for their significant others.

Semba is an Angolan ballroom dance. Danced in couples and in open position, it has very distinctive steps from the gentleman, followed by the ladies in very large steps, where the juggling and acrobacy of the gentleman counts very much for the level of improvisation. Semba characterizes itself as a dance of “passadas” .

Kuduro (or kuduru) is a type of music and dance originally developed in Angola in the 1980s. It is characterized as uptempo, energetic, and danceable. Kuduro began in Luanda, Angola in the late 1980s. Initially, producers sampled traditional carnival music like soca and zouk from the Caribbean, and also semba from Angola and laid this around a fast 4/4 beat.
The kuduro is similar to the Kizomba rhythm. The lyrics are in Portuguese.
